About the Selby Athletic Association, Inc.

The Selby Athletic Association, Inc. (SAA) was formed in 1995 by community residents of Selby on the Bay.  It was formed as a charitable foundation to help our community pool its natural resources (our residents, especially our youth) to serve the residents of our community and enhance the lives of the youth in our area. As an organized charity, we hope to unite residents, young and old and in turn help the less fortunate while enhancing our community at the same time.

For the past 4 years we have sponsored our annual Safety Days and Charity Food & Clothing Drives to bring the community together toward a common cause, whether it be the restocking of local Food & Clothing banks or to raise money for the improvement of our ball fields. In each of the past four years we have given away over $2,000.00 in sporting equipment, books, educational supplies and toys to local children. The Selby Athletic Association has made a noticeable impact on the lives of many area residents, especially the youth of this area.

It is explicitly stated in the SAA “Articles of Incorporation”, that "no one shall be restricted from SAA activities based on any physical, mental or financial limitation". It is our primary goal to never exclude anyone willing to help or participate in whatever it is that we do.

The purpose of this community charity is to inspire residents to act - sometimes by contributing their time and money to a local charitable activity or sometimes just by joining us in cleaning up a local shoreline. We hope as we complete these simple tasks that we will be inspiring future generations to act in similar fashion as well.

Making sure all can participate, especially the less fortunate, through charitable activities is our primary goal – to show that we all can make a difference in someone’s life and make changes for the better, for our community, for our residents and for our environment.  

Our activities are always open to all participants without regard to physical, mental or financial limitation.
